Video – Sophie the Giraffe and Baby Theo
(Video transcript provided for your convenience)
"Hello, everybody. This is Theo, and this is our video review of Sophie the Giraffe. We love Sophie over here in our house. She's very squishy and soft.
As you can see, Theo loves to chew on her. He's got her foot in his mouth right now.
Some of the nice things about Sophie are that it's really easy for him to hang on to her. He can pass her from hand to hand, he can bring her up to his mouth quite easily, and she's quite nice because if she falls, it's very easy to find her.
So as you can see, Sophie is easy for him to grip, he doesn't have any problem bringing her back up to his mouth. He really likes the legs, he likes also her nose, and her horns to chew on."

Video – Sophie the Giraffe and Baby Belle
(Video transcript provided for your convenience)
"Meet Sophie the Giraffe and Baby Belle. This is Belle's favorite toy right now. It is a very safe toy, it's made of natural rubber so it's not plastic and it's very safe for Baby to chew on.
And it is a perfect sensory toy. So it really addresses a lot of the main sensory development areas. So there's sight, her little body – the spots and the contrast is great for Baby to look at. And there's a little squeaker in there, so when Belle hits the right spot, Sophie squeaks. There's also touching, there are lots of areas for her to grab, with the thin neck and the long legs, there are lots of places where she can hold Sophie.
The whole thing is flexible, but the ears are knobby, a little harder, and she loves to chew on those because it feels really good on her gums."
Video – Gunduz’s Sophie the Giraffe Teether
The popular natural rubber, infant teether, Sophie the Giraffe, is contentedly being enjoyed by Baby Gunduz. He loves to bounce up and down in his infant carrier, speak inaudible "baby words," and smile cutely at the video camera while chewing on his Sophie.
Video – Sophie the Giraffe Video Product Review
(Video transcript provided for your convenience)
"Hi, everyone. This is a product review on Sophie the Giraffe.
Here she is. (holds Sophie the Giraffe up in front of the camera.) She's really cute, and she is a very durable toy. That's one of the things I love about her. Naomi likes her, too. She (Naomi) likes to put her (Sophie) mouth in her (Naomi) mouth and chew on her. Her ears … she can also squeak, which Naomi hasn't discovered, yet how do to, but she really likes her.
She's not a huge "chewer," but I do have a girlfriend, who also bought Sophie, per my suggestion, because her daughter likes to chew and put things in her mouth … and her daughter loves it.
So, this is the box (that Sophie came in) … I kept it because it has information on the toy, and things about sensory development. So I'm just going to read the back for you guys.
The first one is sight – the dark and contrasting spots all over Sophie the Giraffe's body provide visual stimulation and make her easily recognizable to baby. She soon becomes a familiar and reassuring object.
Hearing: Her squeaker keeps baby amused, stimulates his or her hearing, and helps him to understand the link between 'cause' and 'effect.'
Taste: Sophie the Giraffe is very flexible and has lots of parts for baby to chew – ears, horns, legs. She is perfect for soothing baby's sore gums while teething, and is completely safe, made of 100% natural rubber and food paint.
Touch: Sophie the Giraffe is perfect for baby's small hands. She is very light, and is easy for baby to grasp. She is very soft to the touch, just like baby's mommy, stimulating soothing physiological and emotional responses.
Smell: The singular scent of natural rubber from the Hevea tree make make your Sophie the Giraffe very special and easy to identify amid his other toys.
Isaac really did not like teethers, so I was hoping that Naomi having a toy like this that she an use it as a toy to chew on when she starts teething.
Anyway, I highly recommend it, it's adorable, it's durable, it was relatively inexpensive, it was $20.00, although it might be a little bit cheaper online.
So, that's my review of Sophie. If you have her and like her, please feel free to leave a comment. If you get her as a result of this review, please leave a comment. I hope your daughter or son enjoy this toy as much as my daughter does.
Bye."

"Once upon a time, there was a little giraffe who was born in Paris, in 1961, Saint Sophie's Day. It was Msieur Rampeau who had the idea to create a giraffe.
It all begins in Malasia, in the forest of Lithia, with the daily harvest of the sap, the latex. It is then shipped to France, Rumilly, to be transformed.
When it reaches Rumilly, the latex is checked and tested.
First Secret – The Plaster Molds: To process the latex with vulcanization, plaster molds are needed. Each giraffe is moulded in a two-part plaster mold – one for the front, and one for the back of the giraffe. Each mold includes ten casts, so the giraffes are made ten by ten.
Second Secret – The Vulcanization Roto Molding: With the planetary motion, the latex poured in the liquid state in each cast is evenly dispersed within the mold. As the mold rotates, the vulcanization is carried out by the heat of the oven, causing the latex to absorb the humidity from the plaster.
The giraffes are then removed from the mold in a solid state. The latex is a natural and living material. It takes several weeks of maturing for the blanks to mature. The giraffes are then taken to a workshop designed especially for the finishing touches.
Grinding: with a fabric disk rotating at high speed, the operator trims the excess rubber, due to the parting of the mold.
The Squeaking Device: This step consists of installing the squeaking device. The squeaker is manually inserted and glued with latex so as to secure it within the body of the giraffe.
Coloring: The paint used is made of latex colored with food pigments. Baby can chew Sophie the Giraffe safely. Each giraffe is hand-painted, and therefore unique.
The Laser Marking: A unique number is etched on the leg of each giraffe.
Quality Control: Once the project is completed, a strict quality control follows to make sure that the production meets Vulli quality requirements as well as the safety standards in each country.
Packing: All that is left is to pack them and ship worldwide.
Why Such a Success? Because it is the first baby toy to stimulate all five senses.
Sight: with her contrasting spots that attract the eye.
Touch: which reminds the baby of mother's skin.
Taste: made of 100% natural rubber and food paint, as it is completely safe for the baby to chew.
Hearing: the squeaker keeps Baby amused and stimulates hearing.
Size: The size of 18 centimeters is perfect for Baby's small hands to grip.
Celebrity Babies Love Sophie: With all her qualities, Sophie the Giraffe is also the joy of celebrity babies (Allison Hannigan, Busy Phillips, Eric Palladino, Nicole Richie, Sandra Bullock, Marissa Coughlan, Madonna, Liev Schrieber and Naomi Watts, Isla Fisher, Sophie Coppola.)
Since 1961, Sophie the giraffe is unbeatable. And her story continues …

In 2011, Sophie the Giraffe will be 50 years old … and the story goes on!"
Introducing Sophie the Giraffe!
Sophie the Giraffe is a popular, much-loved, and safe infant teething toy. She has been used successfully, and quite happily, by many (many!) thousands of infants, in at least 46 countries, for over 50 years.
Sophie is probably more often purchased as a gift for teething infants, than by the parents of the infant, making it an excellent choice for an infant’s first toy, and a thoughtful friend’s baby gift.
The Giraffe teether is 7 inches tall with big coal-black eyes. Sophie has hot pink colored “rouge” (it’s really food paint) on both cheeks, and on the inside of her small mouth, which adds emphasis to her cute, playful, and very cheerful smile. Her front knee is bent forward jauntily.
Relatively inexpensive, Sophie is a time-tested, enduring infant teething toy.
Notably, this infant teething toy has won several awards for children’s toys, including: the ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) Best Toy for Kids award, in 2009; and is also a Martha Stewart “Must Have” infant toy. Sophie the Giraffe is an Amazon.com Best Seller in the Children’s Toy’s category, with over 2,000 customer reviews, consistently ranking a solid 4 stars out of five total.
Born near Paris, France, in 1961, Sophie the Giraffe infant teething toy is especially good for infants who are teething, helping to relieve the pain from teething. She is made from a single piece of molded natural rubber, heavy enough that infants can’t chew through the toy, or bite pieces off of the toy.
Sophie the Giraffe was clearly designed with infants in mind, with many easy places for an infant to chew, including Sophie’s legs, head, face, and horns. The infant teething giraffe is large enough for an infant to hold on to, but small enough and light enough for an infant to lift, and to chew on.
The popularity of the teething giraffe, however, is clearly more related to making infants’ parents happy, providing their teething infant with relief from their painful teething experiences. And related to making gift-giving friends and family members happy, which Sophie has done reliably for over fifty years.
Sophie is also good for infant development, especially neurological development. This infant toy is safe for use by small infants, being made from BPA free natural rubber. Sophie is manufactured in such a way as to be safe for infants to play with and chew on, as well as stimulating all five of their developing senses.
Sophie the Giraffe is easily washable with clean, soapy water or a clean, damp cloth. (Be sure and don’t expose Sophie to excessively hot water or other high temperatures, as she will become damaged. A hot automatic dishwasher would be too hot for Sophie!)
